The 50th Maibock Cup at the Chiemsee Yacht Club in Germany did not have a promising beginning, as only 13 boats had entered. To make matters worse, the sailors had to wait idly on the first day due to the lack of wind, before Dr. Walter Söllner could introduce the gala dinner, which included Mayor Peter Seifert. Richard Brandl, the chronicler of the CYC, gave a picture show of the history of the event and the Star class at the CYC.
On Saturday at 13:26 the wait was finally over with 3 Bft. The start signal for the first race was in a good westerly wind and another three races followed. Christian Nehammer was able to establish a lead of six points ahead of last year's winner Julian Massler. The two races on Sunday, which were carried out at very shifty westerly winds, brought no change of Saturday's result, although Julian Massler with two firsts managed a furious comeback. Winner in the final result was the team was Christian Nehammer / Florian Urban with Julian Massler / Uli Seeberger in second, and third were Christian Paucksch / Alexander Fischer-Brandies.
